RLQ Funding

Each local government participating in Rural Libraries Queensland (RLQ) will receive a cash grant each year to support their library services. Depending on the number of library service points operating within the RLQ, the distributed grant ranges from $650 to $750 for each library open six or more hours per week. This funding can be applied to:

  • magazine subscriptions
  • other local stock not necessarily supplied by State Library e.g. local history material
  • library equipment and furniture
  • computer equipment.

This funding cannot be applied to:

  • staffing
  • consumables
  • any materials and equipment which will not be used within the library for library purposes.

No application need be made for this funding. Funds will be paid to Council automatically once the Service Level Agreement is signed and the annual compliance and statistics reports are submitted to State Library of Queensland.
