Tech Savvy Seniors Queensland
The Tech Savvy Seniors Queensland Program is a partnership between the Queensland Government (led by State Library of Queensland) and Telstra. This partnership is enabling older people, particularly those in regional and remote areas of Queensland the opportunity to develop the skills and confidence to use technology for socialising, accessing important services or conducting personal business.
The 2016 Program encouraged more seniors to embrace information technology by participating in free training that was offered through 38 Local Government library services and Indigenous Knowledge Centres across Queensland. Seniors were able to participate in many different training sessions, including how to use a computer, laptop, tablet and smartphones. Participating in these training sessions will help to promote social connections and facilitate easier access to information which can lead to increased social connection and improved wellbeing.
Telstra is committed to ensuring that everyone can benefit from being online and connected to the digital world and they partner with Government to deliver Tech Savvy Seniors training in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
Deliver your own training sessions with the range of Tech Savvy Seniors Trainer Guides.
5 training guides are available in English, Hindi, Arabic, Mandarin, Cantonese, Dari, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Greek, Macedonian, Croatian and Italian.
