Tech Savvy Seniors Queensland Grants now open

Tech Savvy Seniors Queensland

Tech Savvy Seniors Queensland - program announcement

The Tech Savvy Seniors Queensland (TSSQ) program is a partnership between the Queensland Government, led by SLQ, and Telstra. TSSQ provides an opportunity to train older Queenslanders in basic digital literacy and encourages them to use technology to connect with family and the broader community.

38 applications for grant funding were received from Local Government Library Services and Indigenous Knowledge Centres (IKCs) to deliver the program across the state. Due to the high number of applications, SLQ sourced additional funding to ensure that all applicants will receive a grant, with $581,000 funding delivered in total.

In early 2016, seniors across Queensland will be able to sign up through their local public library or IKC to learn how to use a tablet device, navigate social media, shop online and access government services. To find out more about the program and to download promotional resources to use in your library visit the Tech Savvy Seniors Queensland webpage.
