2016 - 17 Annual Reporting by Public Libraries

Important dates:

Annual Statistical Return

The 2016-17 Queensland Public Libraries Statistical Return is again being managed through the Bibliostat Collect service, an online reporting tool that will collate all statistical data submitted as part of the 2016-17 reference period. Access is via unique userIDs and passwords that have been have supplied to all library managers. The Annual Statistical Return must be completed by Friday 1 September 2017.

Public Library Outcomes Report

The Public Library Outcomes Report is an annual report submitted by Council to the Library Board which details Council’s compliance with its obligations under the Service Level Agreement. Completion and return of this report, together with the Annual Statistical Return and your library's planning documents will meet all requirements and the grant will be scheduled in quarterly payments.

The Public Library Outcomes Report for the financial year 2016-2017 must be completed by Friday 8 September 2017 and should be submitted using the online form: 2016-2017 Public Library Outcomes Report.

As some of the information that libraries supply in the Annual Statistical Return and Public Library Outcomes Report is publicly available through the Queensland Public Libraries Statistical Bulletin, we require that council’s Chief Executive Officer (or delegate) sign-off on the data submitted to State Library via a Certification form which will be supplied to all library managers.

Please refer to your current Service Level Agreement for Public Library Service Provision for further details about Council reporting requirements.

Triennial methodology review

The Public Library Grant is reviewed triennially and aims to ensure Queensland Government strategic priorities are addressed and there is equity in the provision of funding to Local Government to support the provision of public library services in Queensland. The review is currently underway and SLQ would like your feedback on the Discussion Paper, which is currently available online.

For more information about the review, please contact Regional Partnerships.

The data provides for state-wide benchmarking across key indicators and can be used for Local Government reports, funding submissions and to benchmark Queensland library services with library services in other states.
